Our previous blog discussed what it means to be a socially fit influencer and various ways to know where you stand in your journey to healthy influencing. If you’ve not read part 1 of this series, please click here.
Assuming that you have assessed your journey, it’s now time to take a step into getting your Social Fitness into shape. In the second part of this Social Fitness blog series with Atisfyre, we explore the seven dimensions of a Social Fitness influencer. With the ability to grow an audience (off your own back!), the ability to create engaging content, and the ability to distribute it effectively – you can stay ahead of the competition and make your mark on social media to deliver real business results – not just vanity metrics. We also highlight the indicators of poor Social Fitness to help you understand the areas that need attention.
1. Authentic and engaging
A socially fit influencer provides personal, authentic, and relatable content to their audience. This includes industry-expert-level knowledge that they can’t find elsewhere. End of the day, your audience is looking to gain something from your page that they can’t get anywhere else. So, the real question is, are you offering your audience that level of content?
2. Aligned with their niche and goals
You must begin your Social Fitness journey with a goal and niche in mind, just like you do for physical fitness. Are you looking to build, strengthen, or maintain your Social Fitness?
Stick to what aligns with you and what you’re passionate about. For example, if you’re a beauty influencer, focus on offering your audience the ins and outs of the industry.
3. Expert content creation
How good is your content? Is it offering value to your audience? Are you using content to stand apart from other trending influencers in your niche? Asking yourself questions helps determine where and what you can do to improve the quality of your content. Although inspiration can come from different platforms, the audience appreciates authentic and quality content from influencers they admire.
4. Community management
Your audience determines whether you make it or break it in influencing. The core of the concept of influencer marketing lies in your interaction with the audience. A socially fit influencer is responsive, engaging, and interactive with their community. This is one of the best routes to kindle engagement and tap into growing your audience organically.
5. Respected as a thought leader
If you want to stand out from your competition, represent yourself as an industry expert. Offer your audience out-of-the-box knowledge that they won’t find anywhere else, and keep track of what the leading influencers in your niche are doing. Take inspiration but don’t forget to add your spin.
6. Consistency in quality and growth
Consistency is the key to every kind of fitness there is. You wouldn’t train your legs for a day and expect significant results. The same applies to your Social Fitness. Take time to plan your routine, schedule your posts, assess your content and track its progress to see actual results. It takes time, patience, and consistent efforts.
7. Tech-savvy and up-to-date with trends
Keeping up with trends is crucial for influencers. Social media has a funny way of updating algorithms, and influencers often get confused when this happens. But when you’re a socially fit influencer, you’ll know how to navigate the ever-evolving dynamics of the platforms and still keep your content thriving.
Indicators of poor Social Fitness
- Low engagement: Do you have thousands of followers but barely receive likes, comments, or shares? This indicates poor engagement and can drive brands away.
- No consistent growth: Some accounts that have plateaued in their growth believe that they have the privilege of posting less and still seeing the same engagement. That’s flawed logic – when you reach a certain number of followers, you’ll need to invest even more in your content.
- Skewed following – follower ratio: Brands pay attention to your growth trajectory. This includes your following too. If they suspect that your traffic and reach aren’t organic, they will avoid associating with you.
- Unresponsive to negative comments: Get more responsive and empathetic towards negative feedback. This shows that you care and take the time to hear what your followers say, whether good or bad.
Successful influencers don’t happen overnight. But with the right content, proper strategy, and consistent efforts, it is possible to become a socially fit influencer.
